The QS Subject Rankings once again confirm FAU’s strong position in Chemical Engineering in 2026: as in previous years, FAU is ranked among the top 200 worldwide and fifth in Germany.
For its Subject Rankings, QS Quacquarelli Symonds investigated over 6,273 universities, before including a total of 1,908 of them in the ranking. The 55 subjects included in the ranking are split into the five subject areas “Arts and Humanities”, “Engineering and Technology”, “Life Science and Medicine”, “Natural Science” and “Social Sciences and Management”. The evaluation is based on a combination of academic and employer reputation as well as research performance. This year, LMU is ranked in 22 subjects across four subject areas, representing an increase of two subjects compared to 2025.
