This time, the project planning course of the Department CBI had been given a global topic by the industrial partner BASF SE: the students were to figure out how the chemical industry in Germany can achieve the transformation towards the goal of CO2-neutrality. The students worked intensively on the given assignment for three weeks. They evaluated energy generation via wind and solar parks as well as technologies, transport, cost and life-cycle analyses for ammonia and methanol.

On October 13th, the young engineers presented and discussed their research findings at BASF in Ludwigshafen. A guided tour of the plant, including an ammonia plant, rounded up the successful visit.

A heartfelt thanks to BASF and to the students for the inspiring session!
