Welcome to the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at FAU!

We offer 5 study programs, each one with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree:

  • Clean Energy Processes – fully English-taught on Bachelor’s and Master’s level
  • Chemical and Biological Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering – Sustainable Chemical Technologies
  • Life Science Engineering
  • Energy Technology

The department of Chemical and Biological Engineering offers many courses for exchange students in English to choose from, most of them at the master’s level.
Bachelor’s students can choose courses from the English-taught Bachelor’s program Clean Energy Processes. The courses are updated regularly and subject to change.
The language level to study in the English-taught degree programs in B2 (CEFR) in English.

You need to submit your application for admission to FAU’s Central Office for International Affairs (RIA). For questions please contact: welcome-students@fau.de

It is possible to study one or two semester at the FAU as part of one of the following programs:

Founded in 1743, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is today one of the largest research universities in Germany standing out due to its climate for innovation.

The five faculties with about 38.000 students offer a unique range of subjects and the chance to work closely with internationally renowned researchers.
On the Master’s level in particular, there are numerous subjects that are taught entirely in English.

The University is organised into five faculties and several interdisciplinary institutions.
